Razan Alsoghayer is a Saudi film writer/director and producer with a bachelor's degree in Media and Communication from King Faisal University. She studied filmmaking at La Fémis in Paris and earned a filmmaking certificate from the National Film and Television School (NFTS) in the UK. She recently completed a master’s degree in Film Studies at the University of Amsterdam.

Razan began her career as an editor and now works as a producer and director. Her short films have screened at international festivals such as the Lift-Off Film Festival at Pinewood and the Red Sea International Film Festival, and are available on Netflix.

She was selected for the 2025 directing mentorship with Spike Lee, and by the Toronto International Film Festival in 2025 as an emerging film director to attend the TIFF Market.

Her short film A Letter to My Grandfather premiered on NOWNESS and Director’s Library in 2026, and was awarded the Gold Award at the 1.4 Awards in 2026 for the Personal – In the Making category.

She is currently developing her first feature film at the Feature Lab with Film Independent and the Red Sea International Film Festival.

Her work focuses on memory, slice of life, and emotionally driven narratives, often taking a poetic approach to storytelling.
